Being sued and filing BK, should I?

I was sued by a collection agency, they filed on 5/10. I had no choice but to file for BK and the papers were filed on 5/23. The suit papers show I have 30 days to respond yet the court date isn't for 6 months. Do I have to respond to the suit? The BK attorney's office parallegal is telling me don't worry in a couple weeks the court will find out when the BK court informs all the creditors. The BK court is in Riverside and the suit is in San Bernardino. Do I need further legal istance with responding to the suit within the 30 days or should I follow the advise and stop worrying?
