Tips on haggling a new potential landlord about rent?

I'm looking at this place I really like, but I think it is about 100 a month to much. Like the place a few blocks over and in a better loc is the same asking price but, has a garage. And my bf's parents live a few blocks down and they pay 25 less and have a garage, more sqft, similar appliances and everything. I'm afraid to offend the landlord, but I think it's over priced. But, I like it. Just not $100 more a month.
